Walking on the ‘Via Sacra Etrusca’ from 2-5 May with ‘Appennino slow’

From May 2-5 the first complete trek will take place along the Via Sacra Etrusca, in the territories of the municipalities of Volterra, Colle di Val d’Elsa, Monteriggioni, Casole d’Elsa and Sovicille organized by the Tour operator Appennino Slow.

An opportunity not to be missed to live, an ancient path dotted with Etruscan necropolis, archaeological museums and nature reserves (Archaeological Park of Dometaia, Montagnola Senese, Etruscan Necropolis of Malignano, Tumul of Mucellena, Forest of Berignone, historic center of Volterra and Museum Etrusco Guarnacci).

Accompanying the group will be the guides Gianfranco Bracci and Sandro Frascarelli who for years have been dealing with slow tourism and promotion of the Tuscan territory.

The program includes:

2 May: meeting in Mazzolla (Volterra) at 8.30 am Departure for Casole d’Elsa through the forests of Tatti and Berignone

3 May: from Casole d’Elsa to Colle di Val d’Elsa with a packed lunch. Visit to the necropolis of Dometaia and return to Gracciano. Dinner and overnight stay

4 May: departure by bus to Strove and start trekking from Strove to Pernina. Visit of the wonderful Etruscan tomb of Mucellena carved into the rock.

5 May: departure for Villa Cetinale and Scala Santa and free lunch in the center of Sovicille. Start trekking towards the Necropolis of Malignano and visit of the same. End of the trip and return by shuttle bus to Mazzolla, where we will have left the cars. Upon arrival, for those who want, transfer by car to Volterra and visit the Guarnacci Etruscan Museum and the historic center.
